Patients in recovery supported
The challenge
Recovery software has to be gentle with the patient and fast for the clinic.
MyReha is a certified neurotherapy platform for people recovering from stroke and other neurological conditions. Two very different audiences share it: a patient working through exercises at home, and clinic staff managing dozens of them. Over time the patient journey had picked up inconsistencies, and the dashboard was missing everyday actions, so therapists worked around it instead of through it. Everything we changed had to leave the product’s clinical credibility intact.
The research
Accessibility set the floor, not the finish.
We went through comparable therapy and learning products to see which motivation patterns hold up for adults in recovery — and which read as childish. The two segments were mapped separately, because their days have nothing in common: a patient needs one clear task at a time, a clinic needs to find a person in seconds. Neurological accessibility — target sizes, contrast, one decision per screen — became the baseline both had to meet.
The wireframes
One plan, readable at arm’s length.
The therapy plan was laid out so today’s session is the first thing a patient sees, with streaks, milestones and weekly goals giving the week a shape. One structure carries the whole plan, so a session opens the same way whether it is the second day of recovery or the fiftieth.
The solution
Encouragement a clinician can still trust.
Card components were rebuilt for hierarchy, so progress reads at a glance without turning therapy into a game. On the clinic side the dashboard got real search, sorting filters and visible actions — add, discharge, restore — instead of hidden ones. Insurance integration screens were designed inside the existing design system, extending it rather than introducing a second visual language.
The screens
The patient’s plan and the clinic’s list, built from the same parts.
On the patient side the plan, the session and progress share one card language. On the clinic side the patient list carries the search, filters and actions staff use daily. Both draw from the same design system, so a change in one place doesn’t fork the product.
The deliverables
A product design package for the app and the clinic dashboard.
