The challenge
Personal support shouldn’t end when the school day does.
Students often need help while studying independently, but a teacher or private tutor is not always available. The challenge was to shape an AI-assisted learning experience that could offer immediate guidance without simply completing the work for the student — keeping the focus on understanding, practice and progress.
The research
Turning a broad chatbot concept into a focused mobile product.
The initial concept covered several messaging platforms. Working with the client, we reviewed comparable learning and chat products, studying their interface patterns, typography, contrast and composition. Early user flows helped narrow the direction to a standalone mobile experience organized around the student’s core tasks: choosing a subject, starting a conversation and returning to recent learning activity.
The wireframes
The conversation became the center of the product.
The first wireframes mapped the essential journey across sign-up, Home and the tutor chat. We reduced the number of decisions needed to begin studying, then used supporting screens for subject selection, recent activity and progress. This gave the client a clear product structure before visual styling began.
The prototype
A connected prototype made the core journeys tangible.
The prototype brings the key screens into one navigable experience: onboarding, Home, tutor chat and social learning. It was used to review transitions, hierarchy and decision points before handoff. Pick a screen on the left, or tap through the flow to see how the product fits together.

The prototype runs at 375 × 812 and wants room to breathe.
Open the prototypeThe concepts
Two visual directions balanced clarity, trust and youthful energy.
ASI already had an established brand, so this was not an open-ended identity exercise. Both concepts had to work within its existing visual language while making it more useful and engaging in a mobile product. The first stayed close to the brand with a restrained palette of black, white and grey. The second preserved the same foundation while introducing blue accents and livelier details for a younger audience. The final direction used color selectively for important actions and feedback, with Inter chosen for clarity and multilingual support.
The solution
A clear path from question to understanding.
The final direction centers on a simple conversational interface supported by onboarding, subject selection and visible learning progress. The tutor experience is designed to guide the student through a problem rather than foreground a ready-made answer. Social learning extends the same structure into shared activities with friends. Accent color highlights decisions and feedback while the rest of the interface stays deliberately quiet.
The screens
Learning, progress and social motivation in one system.
Onboarding collects the information needed to shape a relevant starting experience, including level and subject interests. The chat keeps the learning task in focus, while points and progress make practice visible over time. Invitations and shared activities introduce a social layer, and the profile brings subjects, achievements and activity into one place.
The deliverables
From early product exploration to a complete mobile experience prepared for development.
